(But First) Yeah, that hurts..

Headaches, general aches & pains have people reaching for their medicine cabinet across the globe.

But the age of convenience has led us to a point where we will medicate for even minor things- and let’s not forget humans dealt with pain naturally for hundreds of years before Dr Pill Cupboard came along.

*Disclaimer* This post is neither endorsing the use of drugs not discouraging it. It is purely for informational purposes only.

Please follow any advice you have been given by a doctor relating to any medical condition you may have.

Old remedies for minor pains still exist and are in use today.

We’ll go through some below so the next time you have a sore head you can be armed with the knowledge to grab something a little more natural.

1. Ginger

Ginger has extensive anti inflammatory properties, ranging from helping with muscle soreness after a workout, right through to post-op knee surgery patient pain relief.

It’s use in this regard is well noted in medical journals and several studies have confirmed its effectiveness even next to Ibuprofen!

2. Turmeric

Turmeric has been used for multiple pain relief concoctions and is well used amongst many modern supplements. It is commonly attributed to helping with joint & muscle pain but also can help with nerve pain.

3. Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar is certainly a required taste for many, however if taken regularly in small doses, studies have shown that it can help with joint pain and inflammation. It also has some health benefits included which include helping to lower blood pressure and fight weight loss.

4. Cloves

A simple (however not a tasty) one for tooth ache, which involves releasing the clove oil directly into the mouth. It has other pain relief properties similar to Ginger and Turmeric.

5. Ginseng

Another renowned anti-inflammatory and chronic pain reducer. Ginseng was used for remedies in ancient China and extract is still used in some medicines today.
