Atkins, Keto, High Carb, No eating after 7pm
These aren’t the things you need to do for successful weight loss, but they all have one particular thing (alongside all the other methods) that you absolutely must have.
That thing is patience.
Stay with me here…
If you can name me one positive, life changing thing that doesn’t take time and careful dedication to achieve then reply by email, I’d love to hear it.
Whether you’re investing money, learning to speak a different language or losing your first Kilogram, it takes time.
In the latter case you can do it in as little as two weeks, but you still need to remove yourself from the belief that something like that happens instantly.
If you compare it to the investment analogy, investing $5000 means that you’ll receive returns based on interest each month.
The same is true for losing weight, the initial investment is the time and dedication you put in. Exercise, diet etc all comes under that.
Your return is the increments of weight you will lose each week and month if you’re being patient and accepting the result as a reflection of what you put in.
Tips for Success
One vital piece of advice that I give as a coach (other than having a coach of course) is to
Celebrate the small wins and
Don’t tell anyone your goals
One
It’s incredibly underrated to celebrate small victories, and that isn’t your weight going down on the scales every week.
It can be drinking extra water in the day.
Walking an extra part of the way home.
Exercising once a week.
Not drinking alcohol during the week
Taking more time out for yourself
Or even simply having more positive thoughts.
It has an awesome effect on your attitude towards your larger goal and will train your sub-conscious to be more accepting of a set back.
Two
Not telling anyone your goals sounds counter productive, you want people to know so they can cheer you on right?
Wrong..
What happens when you get congratulated for making the effort and being responsible etc etc?
A big old release of dopamine into your system that is the same effect as having completed the goal in the first place.
Basically if you feel like you’ve done it..
Yeah, then you’re not gonna do it!
If you have a coach, THEY know your goals because THEY won’t cheer you on until it’s done!
If you don’t have a coach, choose a friend you can trust to not accept anything but the best from you until it’s done.
